Jordan Vauvert Si le dungeon synth est un élément récurrent dans le black metal atmosphérique, il est trop souvent relégué au second plan avec le rôle de faire-valoir. Pas chez le trio allemand Festung : dans sa première démo éponyme, les deux genres sont à parts égales — la conclusion est même entièrement faite de dungeon synth. Si les riffs nous happent dans un cadre médiéval, l'ambiance est sinistre. La vie n'existe plus et c'est la voix de la Mort qui narre ces légendes perdues. Le château nous appelle... Favorite track: Wehrgang.

darkenedspirit (Midgard_OBM) Tape sold out for a while, so I've bought the digital album. This record is awesome, as well the parts of Black Metal than Dungeon Synth. Nice atmosphere and ambience, this is very lugubrious, the riffs are transcendental and the vocals are good.

sfcr Three solo artists from Leipzig decide to work together and deliver the perfect combination of ambient black metal and dungeon synth. Seeing (or hearing) what they can do on a Demo recording, it looks like Festung will have a bright future within the Black Metal Underground. Favorite track: Wehrgang.

Gabriel Tamas A very interesting release that pretty much took by storm a small faction of the Dungeon Synth community. The perfect mix of DS and Black Metal on this album is masterfully done. And those long ambiental, almost hypnotizing tracks remind me of a band (and song) well loved in this genre! Favorite track: Wehrgang.
